First Standard Finance Corporation Supports Hard-Hit Communities After Typhoon TINO and Super Typhoon UWAN

November 2025 — First Standard Finance Corporation recently extended on-the-ground assistance to Filipino communities affected by consecutive storms — Typhoon TINO (Kalmaegi) and Super Typhoon UWAN (Fung-Wong) — underscoring its broader commitment to making Filipinos’ lives better.

While known for helping Filipinos move forward through its financial services, the company also recognizes the importance of being present in moments when communities need support the most. The two storms, which brought widespread flooding, power outages, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to water supply, left thousands of families struggling with limited access to essential goods. Many small and remote communities faced isolation as roads became impassable and river levels rose rapidly, particularly in areas surrounding the Butuanon River, Mananga River, Binaliw River, and Cabadiangan River.

Teams visited several areas, including:

  • Lagtang
  • Umapad
  • Tingub
  • Binaliw
  • Guadalupe
  • Capitol
  • Bacayan
  • Estaca
  • Cotcot
  • Jubay
  • Areas near the Butuanon River
  • Small communities in Iloilo and Canlaon
  • And many more nearby affected barangays

To ensure timely delivery of assistance, First Standard partnered with local volunteer groups, community leaders, and grassroots organizations, enabling relief workers to navigate difficult terrain and reach families still experiencing supply shortages.

“Uplifting People’s Lives has always been at the heart of what we do,” the company shared. “While our services focus on helping Filipinos move forward financially, we also recognize the importance of being present during moments of crisis. Our commitment extends beyond business—it includes supporting communities as they recover and rebuild.”

The company emphasized that its efforts are part of a continuous initiative to respond quickly and meaningfully during calamities. First Standard pledged to look for additional ways to assist affected areas in the coming weeks as residents work toward restoring normalcy.
